Most “startups hiring in Bangalore” lists were accurate on the day someone wrote them. A company that posted ten roles in March may have filled them by May, and the one that raised a seed round last Tuesday may not have posted anything yet. On 14 October 2026, Wellfound’s Bengaluru page still carried two 6sense engineering listings marked “1 year ago”, on the same page as roles posted that day.
So this page does two jobs. It names the startups we saw with fresh Bengaluru roles on that date, and it shows you how to rebuild the list yourself every Monday, so you are not relying on ours after it goes stale.
Which startups are hiring in Bangalore right now?
These companies had Bengaluru roles on Wellfound’s Bengaluru page when we checked it on 14 October 2026. The page showed “1266 results total”. The posted ages are as Wellfound displayed them that day, so “2 days ago” means about 12 October. Hiring changes weekly; by the time you read this, some of these roles will be closed and new ones will be up.
| Company | Size and stage | Roles seen | Setup | Posted, as shown |
|---|---|---|---|---|
| Fibr AI | 11-50, Early Stage | Founding SDR; Product Engineer; Forward Deployed Growth Lead | In office, Bengaluru | 1 to 2 days ago |
| Simplismart | 51-200, Early Stage | Senior Product Designer; Account Executive | In office, Bengaluru | 4 to 5 days ago |
| Recruiterflow | 51-200, Growth Stage | Manual QA Tester; Content Marketer | In office, Bengaluru | yesterday; 1 week ago |
| Decentro | 51-200, Growth Stage, YC Funded | Site Reliability Engineer | In office, Bengaluru | 6 days ago |
| cardboard.ai | 11-50 | React Native Engineer; Fullstack Engineer; Backend Engineer | Bengaluru | 1 week ago |
| Nosh Robotics | 11-50, Early Stage | Embedded Firmware Engineer; Computer Vision Intern | In office, Bengaluru | 2 days ago; 1 week ago |
| FreightFox | 11-50, Early Stage | Java Backend Engineer (0-2 yrs) | In office, Bengaluru | yesterday |
| Botsync | 51-200, Early Stage | Manager - Production & Quality Control | In office, Bengaluru | today |
Two more from YC’s own pages, checked the same day. Vahan (YC S19), which YC lists in Bengaluru, shows a Lead AI Engineer role in Bengaluru at ₹3M to ₹6M on its YC company page. GoSats (YC W22) lists a Head of Revenue & Monetisation in Bengaluru at ₹4.5M to ₹7.5M on YC’s India jobs page.
Three things about this sample are worth noticing. Almost every role is in office, so if you assumed Bengaluru startups default to remote, this set says otherwise. Pay is often printed on the posting: Fibr AI’s Product Engineer role showed ₹15L to ₹25L with 0.05% to 0.1% equity. And the sizes run small: at 11 to 50 people, a founder may well read applications personally.
We left out companies whose Bengaluru listings were old, including those two 6sense rows. A list scraped once and never rechecked would have kept them.
Which startups are hiring right now in India, beyond Bangalore?
Across India, Wellfound showed “5406 results total” and YC’s India jobs page 25 roles from 10 YC companies on 14 October 2026, though few of the YC roles were both recent and based in India. YC’s page describes India’s YC startups as “well funded and hiring for all roles”. The freshest India-based listing, about a month old, was GoSats’ Head of Revenue & Monetisation in Bengaluru; the India roles at Human Archive, SigNoz and Attack Capital on the same page were 7 to 10 months old, which fails the one-month test below.
The location line matters as much as the date. Ten of that page’s 25 rows were marked only “Remote (US)”, so appearing on an India page did not make a role open to someone living here. US startups that hire remote from India explains how to read those tags; for an in-India search, filter on each role’s location, not on the page title.
The wider pool is large and mostly quiet on any given week. Inc42, reporting a commerce ministry statement, put DPIIT-recognised startups at “over 2.23 Lakh as of March 31, 2026”, with Karnataka second at 22,600, behind Maharashtra. YC’s India directory alone says “Browse 173 of the top startups funded by Y Combinator” that are “Headquartered in India”. Few of them are posting this week; some will be next month, usually right after a raise.
Where do you check who in Bengaluru is hiring this week?
No single page answers it. Four sources together come close, and each catches something the other three miss.
- Wellfound’s location page. Open wellfound.com/location/bangalore (or /location/india). Each company card shows headcount and a stage label, and each role shows its setup, salary band, equity and age. Some cards carry a response badge such as “Responds within a week”, which Wellfound marks as “Based on past data”. Sort your shortlist by posted date and drop anything older than a month.
- YC’s India pages. ycombinator.com/jobs/location/india lists open roles at YC companies here, and ycombinator.com/companies/location/india lists the YC companies headquartered in India. Click through to a company page for the full set of its roles with location and pay. YC’s profile costs nothing, and founders use it to contact candidates, so make one on the same visit.
- The company’s own careers page. After a company makes your shortlist, go straight to its site. Boards lag behind; the careers page is the one the founder actually edits.
- Funding news. Money usually arrives before the job posts do. Inc42 runs funding stories every day, and its RSS feed at inc42.com/feed/ is the quickest way to skim them. On 14 October 2026 alone, it reported that Bengaluru’s Spill Games raised $10.5 million and would “selectively grow its team”, and that Circle, a Bengaluru marketplace, raised ₹25 crore to “expand beyond Bengaluru”. Neither story names an open role. Both are a reason to write this week.
The first three show who has posted. The fourth hints at who is about to. Finding startups before they post roles goes further into reading raises and launches as hiring signals.
How do you tell a live Bengaluru opening from a stale one?
Run four checks before you put an evening into a cover letter:
- Posted date. Under a month is a reasonable cut-off. “1 year ago” usually means nobody took the listing down.
- Location line. “In office • Bengaluru”, “Remote only • India” and “Remote (US)” are three different jobs. Trust what the role says, not the page it sits on.
- Careers page. A role that is on a board but missing from the company’s own site has probably been filled.
- Recent activity. A raise, a launch or an announced hire in the last few weeks makes an open role more likely to be real and urgent.
A company that passes all four goes on this week’s list. One that fails the first two rarely deserves a second look.
Is there a shortcut if you don’t want to check five sites every morning?
Yes, though it changes what you collect. The routine above finds job ads. At a 20-person company, the quicker route to an interview is often a short note to whoever decides, and for that you need names and addresses, not postings.
Backdoor handles both halves of that:
- A free hiring list. Backdoor says its free Google Sheet names 2,000+ people who make hiring decisions across 320+ companies, “mostly startups in India”, from HR and talent leads to founders and team managers, each with a name, title, company, email and LinkedIn. Its list page also says: “Mostly Bengaluru, Mumbai and Delhi NCR.” You text Backdoor and the sheet comes back, with no signup. For a Bangalore search, that is a ready set of people to write to.
- A morning shortlist. Backdoor watches the same signals this page asks you to check (funding news, YC, Product Hunt, TechCrunch and Crunchbase, GitHub, Wellfound and careers pages) and each morning sends you the startups that fit your background, including the just-raised ones that have not posted yet. That is the step people skip first.
- The note, if you want it. For a startup you choose, Backdoor digs up the founder’s address and writes a note that ties your background to that company. You approve each one before it leaves your Gmail, and any follow-up stays in the same thread.
The sheet, the morning shortlist, resume help and intros to the startups Backdoor partners with cost nothing. You pay only when it sends for you: in India, a week of outreach is a one-time ₹999 that does not renew. Backdoor aims at “pre-seed to Series C” startups, so it will not help much if your target is a large company’s careers portal.
At a Bengaluru startup, should you apply on Wellfound or write to the founder?
It depends on the company. Apply on the board when the role is posted, recent and close to your background; the posting is an invitation, and going around it to email the CEO can look like skipping the queue.
Write to the founder when the company is in Wellfound’s 1-10 or 11-50 band, when it has just raised or launched, or when the role you want has not been posted. At that size the founder is often the whole hiring process. Give the note three parts: why this week, one result of yours that maps to their product, and one small ask. If you do not have the founder’s address, our guide to finding a founder’s email walks through it, from the About page to a verified guess.
You can do both. After applying to a role at a 20-person company, a two-line note to the founder pointing at your application is fine, and it is often how the application gets opened.
What does a weekly Bangalore search look like?
Monday, 30 minutes. Open Wellfound’s Bengaluru page and note every role posted in the last seven days that fits: say six roles at five companies. Open YC’s India jobs page and add any Bengaluru role with a recent date.
Monday, 15 minutes. Skim the week’s funding stories on Inc42. Add two Bengaluru startups that raised and said they will grow the team, even though neither has posted.
Tuesday. Check each of the seven companies’ careers pages. One posted role is gone; drop it. You now have four live postings and two pre-posting companies.
Wednesday. Apply to the four postings. For the two smallest companies, send a short note to a founder as well. For the two that just raised, send a founder note only.
The following Monday. Repeat the scan. Follow up once, in the same thread, on any founder note with no reply, and add something new: a small fix, a relevant result, a question about their launch.
Stretch or shrink the time budget, but keep the order: fresh postings, then funding news, then the careers-page check, then notes. If Monday’s scan is the part that keeps slipping, Backdoor’s sheet and morning shortlist cover it.
Your first Bangalore shortlist: ten companies by Friday
- Ten companies. Take them from the table above, Wellfound and this week’s Inc42 stories, and run the four checks on each. Some will drop out.
- One YC profile. It takes a few minutes, and YC founders can then find you without a posting.
- One sheet. Get Backdoor’s free hiring list and highlight anyone who works at a company on your shortlist.
- Three notes. Pick the three smallest companies left and write one short note to a founder at each. Put a follow-up date in your calendar before you send.
If reaching founders becomes most of your search, the tools that email startup founders for you are compared side by side, and our review of remote and early-stage job sites covers the boards beyond Wellfound and YC.
